Hi Ms Dowlng and KD,
I LOVE your book by the Gruffalo. What exciting holidays he had – and how nice to have a holiday with his friend Grug (one of my very favourite book characters). They sure went to some interesting places and had fun.
Did you read ‘The Gruffalo’ as a hard copy big book or from the IWB?
Is Gruffalo’s book, ‘My Holiday’ only on the IWB? Or, is there a hard copy too, to take for home reading?
Gruffalo was very clever in making a book of himself and Grug. I wonder how he put himself in the picture on the pages. Do you know how he did this?
I am glad Gruffalo is back. What sorts of things will he do now in the classroom? Enjoy!
Have a great week,
Mrs Swan

Hi! KD and Gruffalo,
We just read your story and we loved it. We think Gruffalo and Grug had an excellent holiday. They did so many things no wonder he took so long to come back to school.
Maybe Gruffalo would like to visit us in New Zealand for his next holiday. We would look after him and show him around Hamilton.

Hi Dean,
I’m sure that the Gruffalo missed you too! Did you read his recount to your family? I wish I could go on an exciting holiday with the Gruffalo and Grug.
What do you think Grug will like best about our class?

Hi Mrs Swan,
We are glad that you enjoyed reading about the Gruffalo’s holiday. We will try and answer your questions.
* We read the big book `The Gruffalo’ and we watched it on the smartboard.
* Ms Dowling printed 4 copies of the recount and we are taking it in turns to take it home to read. We also have one on our shelf in case we feel like reading it at school.
We are never really sure what the Gruffalo will do next!
